What is faded beauty?
Faded beauty is a blog where you can read the articles that I have written about anything and everything and where you can get ideas for things! I get randomly inspired very often and so I write about things (specifically things I am passionate about like God, the Bible, and many controversial topics relating to life). Here you will be able to find thoughts about life from a 16 year old. You may find advice, jokes and just about anything that involves real life. Some things I love and will be sharing ideas about are crafts, music, dance, and above all, my walk with God. I believe that after reading my entries you might be encouraged and feel understood. I also want to provide resources and recommendations to help you thrive as a Christian in a world where there is little love and a lot of hate. Whoever you are, I am happy to be your friend, and you can learn about me through my blog.
What is the meaning behind the name?
The idea of faded beauty is that humanity and the world were originally created to be perfect. When God created mankind, he said that they were “very good” and everything else was “good”. But when man went against God by eating from the tree that they weren’t supposed to eat from, man and the world became cursed. Now, there is death and all kinds of evil and ugliness in the world. However, God is sovereign (in control) and He allows the earth to still be beautiful in some ways despite its brokenness. So, faded beauty captures the idea that like dried flowers, the world is broken yet still beautiful. The hope that remains for humanity and for the earth is that one day, it will all be made new and every tear will be wiped from the eyes of those who trust in God.
Besides that, the world is so beautiful in so many ways and I cherish every little part of it. I love wildflowers (which sometimes are call weeds from time to time), mountains, sunsets and nature in general. If the earth is that beautiful then how much more beautiful can the God who made those things be?
