What is the Gospel?

The word gospel means “good news” and in this case it means the good news about Jesus Christ coming to this earth, living a perfect life, dying on the cross accepting our penalty for sin and raising to life, conquering death and sin. Now you and I can live in freedom from sin, and we do not have to stay spiritually dead. Instead, like the Bible says, we can be made alive in Christ. Everyone is dead in their sin (the evil things they do that go against God) unless they believe that God sent his son Jesus to the earth and did the things that I mentioned before. That is the basis of the gospel. Now I want to go into it a bit deeper and use Scripture.
