The Wonder of Reading
I try, I try but I just can’t do it. The letters turn around and take part in a mean dance. “The words just aren’t there” I cry out. “But they are, they are I promise they are. They are there and they are beautiful and one day you will read them,” came the reply.
The words on the page lamely stare back at me as my brain strains to know what they say. The first word says…it says…I give up once again, like all those years ago when I first learned to read. This is the hardest word I have ever seen.
The words jump out from the page as I consume them like manna from heaven. I take in the message and am filled to the brim with knowledge overflowing from the book. Read, read, how I love to read. I can go anywhere, and experience anything because I can read. Reading teaches us to press on, and oh the reward if we do.
